New Year’s Eve Racing Celebrations

Warwick Racecourse host their annual New Year’s Eve raceday tomorrow (December 31) with a strong seven race card, writes Shaun Reynolds.

Local trainer, and Warwick Racecourse ambassador, Dan Skelton has two entries across the card as Walk On Al features in the Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle at 1.10pm and Squire Trelawney runs in the following race – a Novice Handicap Chase.

The New Year’s Eve meeting starts at 12.40pm – with the local parking security Novices’ Handicap Hurdle, ran over two miles and three furlongs – and concludes at 3.40pm with the year ending National Hunt Flat Race.

Racecourse General Manager Andre Klein is looking forward to welcoming the local public to the concluding race fixture of 2015 and stated that advanced tickets have sold well.

He added: “The fixture is a fantastic opportunity to sample racing and start the New Year celebrations early.

“The busy racecard and entertainment we’ve lined up off the track should make for a great atmosphere and we look forward to welcoming the local community.

“Advance tickets sales have been going extremely well in the run-up to the fixture, so it’s set to be a bumper crowd and we’re encouraging people to buy tickets online where possible.”
